Hi everyone - this blog has now moved to http://www.tamararogers.co.uk/blog.

It's also expanding- under the banner of 'Fade', not only will you be able to get updates on my own photography and projects but I will also be collating free textures and resources for you to use, highlighting other photographers and artists' work, sharing weird and wonderful stories for inspiration, and pointing out really great tutorials/techniques.

My website has had a makeover!

My brand new revamped website is now online and ready to visit! You can see my photography, illustration, graphics and retouching work, and even listen to an interview I did on an Amerian radio show "Sci Fi Saturday Night".

As of the 16th July I'm going to be available on a fulltime basis for commisions and freelance contracts so feel free to get in touch.

Also, I'll be showing and selling some prints in Northampton on Saturday 10th July - I'll keep you posted with more details so watch this space.

So as the long bank holiday weekend is coming to a close (and a good one it was at that) I can't wait now for a bit of sun... or at least no rain, for a whole day... maybe I'm asking too much but you never know. On the up side I finally got my studio pretty much set up in my new house, it's great to have a proper space to leave the lights up and ready to shoot in again.

So excited about the imminent release of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. In a similar way to Sweeney Todd the style looks set to be amazing. Can't wait to see it on the big screen!

Yes that's right, Alan Moore's magazine Dodgem Logic, first issue due out later this month, uses my image as the front cover! Here's what he had to say about it...

"Drawing upon an overlooked and energetic pool of local talent as well as numerous friends and co-conspirators from comic books, the arts or entertainment, Dodgem Logic sets out to provide a splash of subterranean exotica in a bleached-out cultural and social landscape. Published every other month by counter-culture veterans KNOCKABOUT, Dodgem Logic is a forty page full-colour spectacle that, in addition, has an eight-page local section in each issue, thus inviting other areas to publish regional editions by providing their own inserts.

This series of photographs was taken as part of a commission for The Lowdown, a Northamptonshire based charity giving help and support to young people. They do great work, and it was brilliant to be able to work with them on this project. The series reflects scenes in Northamptonshire in a whimsical and mysterious way.

It was about this time that the pigs suddenly moved into the farmhouse and took up their residence there. Again the animals seemed to remember that a resolution against this had been passed in the early days, and again Squealer was able to convince them that this was not the case. It was absolutely necessary, he said, that the pigs, who were the brains of the farm, should have a quiet place to work in. It was also more suited to the dignity of the Leader (for of late he had taken to speaking of Napoleon under the title of "Leader") to live in a house than in a mere sty. Nevertheless, some of the animals were disturbed when they heard that the pigs not only took their meals in the kitchen and used the drawing-room as a recreation room, but also slept in the beds. Boxer passed it off as usual with "Napoleon is always right!", but Clover, who thought she remembered a definite ruling against beds, went to the end of the barn and tried to puzzle out the Seven Commandments which were inscribed there. Finding herself unable to read more than individual letters, she fetched Muriel. "Muriel," she said, "read me the Fourth Commandment. Does it not say something about never sleeping in a bed?" With some difficulty Muriel spelt it out. "It says, 'No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets,"' she announced finally. Curiously enough, Clover had not remembered that the Fourth Commandment mentioned sheets; but as it was there on the wall, it must have done so. Do you remember the Australian (I think) kids programme called Round the Twist? It's a really surreal crazy programme about a family that live in a lighthouse. I think there was an episode where one of the kids got in trouble with the birds of the island who then punished him by pooing on him until he was buried... kinda weird.
